Solar Electric Vehicles

Electric Vehicles (EV) are environment friendly and meet the requirement of SDG-13. It cuts not just the emissions to virtually zero but also reliance on fossil fuels. Its economical, technology based, trendy as the entire world now persuing electrification of transports. The EV project under reference primarily focuses on conversion of existing 2,3,4 and more wheelers in any country through retrofiting during the initial phase of the project. The subsequent phases involve production of EVs of various wheelers, upgradation of currently deployed ion-lithium batteries to graphene and onward. Within Pakistan the prospects of the business can be guaged from the figures of existing vehicular population. For example, there are 25 Million motorbikes (2 wheelers) on the road at any given time. Multiple Investment projects to convert only 2 wheelers in Pakistan will take not less than 10 years. This period of conversion of existing 2 wheelers to EV through retrofiting will also be utilized to step into full fledged manufacturing of electric motorbikes.

Vision & Concept Pakistan’s roads are flooded with more than 30 million Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles including 4, 3 and 2 wheelers. This vehicular population is dominated by 25 million motorbikes on the roads at any given time, which, in Pakistan, is also called poor man’s family car.
Scope Pakistan’s petroleum import bill touched the figure of around US$ 18 billion, of late, and over 70% of the imported petroleum is consumed by the transport sector. This important and valuable resources that is petroleum, could be directed more to the industrial sector to add to the country’s production capacity and a number of other high value production areas thereby increasing revenue generation for the country.
